This popup can be used to adjust a output (called control) until a input (Called target) reach a specific value. The output can be a electronic load, a power power supply, a ARB, etc.. The input can be any measuring device.
Control range: Range to adjust over, default and limits is configured from the selected field, but it is a good idea to limit the range significantly.
Min change: When the automatic adjustment of the control field is down to this value, the search is stopped.
Update speed: How long to wait between setting a control value and reading the corresponding target value, this must be long enough for the value to stabilise or the search will fail.
Target: The input the control affects, TC can be configured to search for max/min or a specific value.
In all cases the circuit is a 12V power supply with a 5ohm series resistor. The search works with or without logging activated.
The controlled value is the current (Blue trace) and the target is the power (Dark trace).
Find the maximum power to the target.
The controlled value is the current (Blue trace) and the target is the voltage (Red trace).
Maximum voltage is when the current is minimum.
The controlled value is the current (Blue trace) and the target is the voltage (Red trace).
Here the target is to get the voltage as close to 6V as possible by adjusting the current.
When a value is found a line is output to the log window:
Code:
;; Auto adjust Min: 1.99927 A 1.6230V
;; Auto adjust Max: 1.70898 mA 11.9730V
;; Auto adjust Value: 1.15503 A 5.9990V Error: -0.0010 -167ppm
;; Auto adjust Max: 1.16772 A 6.943W
The control value can be copied to the clipboard with a right click on the result line.
