Test controller, Battery Test example

Setup

When used the battery test makes a lot of documentation in a lot of file, I list them here. The above screenshot show the parameters used.
If the file prefix already has been used, the old files will be overwritten!

A log is generated, it will list the parameters used and each step done, together with the actual battery voltage.

A summary table is generated during the test and partial results can be viewed at any time in the "Summary" tab.

Charging

There will always be a charge before the the first discharge test and one after the last discharge, i.e. there will be one more charge than discharges.
All the csv files for the curves are also saved.

Test_charge_Init

The initial charge, this is the only saved curve if only a power supply is connected.

Test_charge_500m

A charge curve after the 500mA discharge, the name do not specify the actual charge current.

Test_charge_1

A charge curve after the 1A discharge

Test_charge_2

A charge curve after the 2A discharge

Test_charge_5

A charge curve after the 5A discharge

Discharging

These are usually the reason to do a battery test. If only a load is connected only the first listed current is used.
All the csv files for the curves are also saved.

Test_discharge_500m

A 500mA constant current discharge.

Test_discharge_1

A 1A constant current discharge.

Test_discharge_2

A 2A constant current discharge.

Test_discharge_5

A 5A constant current discharge.

Summary

These curves are saved if two or more dishcarges test are done.
All the csv files for the curves are also saved, but because the columns do not contain a device name all units are lost. These files are also optimized for included columns.

Test_charge_time

All charge curves are combined into one chart showing how fast the voltage increases, there may be small difference after the different discharge currents, but usually nothing major.

Test_discharge_time

All discharge curves combined with same time scale, the higher current will discharge the battery much faster.

Test_discharge_Capacity

Instead of time they can also be combined on capacity, there they will be fairly similar, with higher current discharging slightly faster.

Test_discharge_Energy

Looking at energy is basically the same as capacity, but energy also includes battery voltage.
