Beamshot colors, August 2010
In this beamshot I have collected some flashlights with colored light, most of the light is older lights, because there is a very limited selected of colored lights.
The following lights are included (Same sequence as pictures): Sunwayled M40C, 4Sevens Quark RGB, Inova Inforce Color, Energizer Hard Case Tactical, Tomahawk MC, Proton Pro, SureFire KROMA
All pictures are done with the same exposure setting, but sequences marked with "increased exposure" have the exposure increased two steps in post processing. In these pictures the ambient light is visible, the dark reference picture shows how much.
When measuring total light output with a ceiling bounce the Sunwayled with the MC-E white led is the brightest white light, the other lights has smaller leds and less battery power.
With all the white settings in one chart it can be seen that Hard Case has a very small range from low to high, Quark RGB and Inforce has a large range with many settings. The Kroma has a huge difference between low and high.
Here I have measured the lux at 1 meter to get an idea about thrown, M40C and Inforce has lots of throw, but Quark RGB and Hard Case has no throw.
Total red light output measured with ceiling bounce, the Quark at high setting is the brightest.
Total green light output measured with ceiling bounce, the Quark at high setting is the brightest.
Total blue light output measured with ceiling bounce, the Quark at high setting is the brightest.
When measuring the weight of the lights is was usign the following batteries: M40C: 18650, Hard Case: AA Lithium, Proton Pro: Eneloop, all other: CR123
In this table I have tried to collect the key features of each light. For the user interface I use the following abbreviations: TS: Tail switch, Head: Loose/tight head, MTS: Momentary tail switch, TC: Tail cap, ESS: Electronic side switch, ETS: Electronic tail switch, RSS: Rocker side switch, ES: Electronic switch
Note: Hard Case also has IR light.
I have checked some US websites for a price estimate of the different lights.

4Sevens Quark RGB
For colored light this is the most comprehensive light, it has both the lowest and highest brightness settings and a couple of settings in between. The light is a flood light, also for white light, it has absolutely no throw. The user interface is easy to use, but it takes some time to find the desired setting.

Notes
Most of the small beamshot pictures can be clicked for a larger version. To compare beamshots, open the larger picture in different tabs, and then switch between tabs to see the difference.
Sunwayled has changed name to Sunwayman
