Measurements

Konig%20Home%20charger%20IPD-Power30%20230V%20load%20sweep

Output current is 1.4A before it shut down, this is fine for a 1A charge.

Konig%20Home%20charger%20IPD-Power30%20120V%20load%20sweep

120V looks similar, but with slightly less output current.

Konig%20Home%20charger%20IPD-Power30%20230V%20load%20test

There is no problem maintaining the rated 1A current.
The temperature photos below are taken between 30 minutes and 60 minutes into the one hour test.

Temp3395

M1: 40,5°C, HS1: 54,1°C

Temp3396
M1: 42,4°C, HS1: 54,1°C

Temp3397

HS1: 54,2°C

10ohm

Noise at 0.5A load is: 47mV rms and 357mVpp.

5ohm

Noise at 1A load is: 64mV rms and 388mVpp.

Tear down

I could not crack this with my vice, I needed a screwdriver to pry it apart, it uses clips.

At the mains input there is a fusible resistor (1W10R) followed by a bridge rectifier made with four diodes. There is two capacitors with a inductor between (L1). The safety capacitor is hidden in heatshrink.
On the output is also used a round leaded diode.

A single switcher chip (AX2535) handles everything here, including output voltage stablization without an opto coupler.
The missing opto coupler is also the reason for the voltage drop at low loads, the regulator need a bit more current draw before it compensates for load.

There is good isolation distance.

Testing with 2830 volt and 4242 volt between mains and low volt side, did not show any safety problems.

Conclusion

This is a small usb power supply with only 1A output and missing DCP coding, it is safe and works fine, but has not really kept up with the times.

Notes

Charger was supplied by Pro backup (probackup.nl)
My high voltage test is done with a real HiPot tester allowing me to use the correct voltages for US and EU.
