Beamshot of AAA lights, November 2011
In this beamshot I have include the following new lights: ThruNite Ti, NexTorch K1 and NiteCore T0.
Some other AAA beamshots: September 2011, Juli 2011, Marts 2011, October 2010, July 2010, Juni 2010, January 2010, ITP A3 EOS and Maratac AAA comparison, AAA flashlights
I have included the following lights (Same sequence as picture): ThruNite Ti firefly, ThruNite Ti, Olight i3, Fenix E01, Fenix E05, Fenix LD01, NexTorch K1, NiteCore T0 and 4Sevens Preon.
This time I did not want to look at only black lights and selected different colors when possible, but all lights does exist in black versions.
The above picture shows the possible colors of some of the lights.
All lights has been tested with NiMH (eneloop) batteries.
This chart shows the total light output measured with a ceiling bounce. The two 5 mm led (E01 and T0) are weak light, but also the K1 has a very low output.
Most of these lights are not stabilized, this means that the brightness will change with battery voltage.
The i3, LD01 and Preon are 3 level lights, the Ti is a two level light and exist in two version, one with a ordinary low and one with a firefly level.
These small lights can not be throwers, but there is some difference in the focusing where the Ti and K1 has a tight focus.
The stainless steel LD01 is much heavier than the other lights (The LD01 also exist in a aluminium version).
In this table I have summarized the abilities of the lights. Some of the lights exists in versions with different led and also in different materials or colors.
The LD01 is a special edition, this makes it a bit more expensive, the aluminium model is $40.
Beam profile, high power
ThruNite Ti firefly, ThruNite Ti, Olight i3:
Fenix E01, Fenix E05, Fenix LD01:
NexTorch K1, NiteCore T0, 4Sevens Preon:
Beam profile, high power, reduced exposure
The reduced exposure makes it easier to compare the hotspot.
ThruNite Ti firefly, ThruNite Ti, Olight i3:
Fenix E01, Fenix E05, Fenix LD01:
NexTorch K1, NiteCore T0, 4Sevens Preon:
Beam profile, lowest setting
Single level lights uses the same picture as above.
ThruNite Ti firefly, ThruNite Ti, Olight i3:
Fenix E01, Fenix E05, Fenix LD01:
NexTorch K1, NiteCore T0, 4Sevens Preon:
Beam profile, lowest setting, increased exposure
Increasing the exposure makes it easier to compare the low settings.
