Beamshot ThruNite comparison, November 2011
This beamshot compares the many Thrunite lights with some other lights.
Some other comparisons are: Beamshot ThruNite comparison, October 2011, Beamshot Lux-RC FL33 comparison, September 2011, Beamshot Klarus XT20 comparison, September 2011, Beamshot 13 lights, September 2011, Beamshot of 14 big lights, August 2011, Beamshot of 8 light with 18650 battery, Juli 2011, Beamshot of 7 Fenix and 6 other lights, May 2011, Beamshot of 12 big lights, Marts 2011, Beamshot of 14 big lights, September 2010, Beamshot of 17 big lights, April 2010, Beamshot 9 big lights, June 2010 and Beamshot 8 big lights, June 2010
I have included the following lights (Same sequence as picture): ThruNite Scorpion, ThruNite Scorpion turbo, ThruNite TN10, ThruNite TN11, ThruNite TN12, ThruNite T30, ThruNite Neutron 2A, ThrunNite Neutron 2C, 4Sevens Quark X AA2, 4Sevens Quark X 1232, 4Sevens Quark 1232 Turbo S3, ZebraLight SC600, Spark SL6-740NW, Fenix TK21 U2
When possible the lights was tested with 18650 batteries, for some lights this means that they do not reach full brightness. For other lights was used either CR123 or NiMH batteries.
Note: The TK12 did mode skipping when doing the beamshot and I had forgotten it was a 4 level light, this means it is missing one level and it looks like it is the high medium level.
This chart shows the total light output measured with a ceiling bounce. The 2A is very low in brightness, I tried some other batteries and another 2A, but that did not change the result.
The Scorpion, TN10 and T11 all have a fully adjustable range, this gives a high flexibility in brightness.
The throw is very depend on the reflector size. The S3 has a smaller led, this does improve throw.
The slim line lights is lighter than the 18650 lights.
Note: The weight does include batteries.
In this table I have summarized the abilities of the lights. For the user interface I use the following abbreviations: TS: Tail switch, ETS: Electronic tail switch, ESS: Electronic side switch, Head: The head is used to select modes, Tail: The tail is used to select modes.
The price for the different lights as found on the internet. The Turbo S3 was a limited run and is not available anymore.

Beam profile, high power, reduced exposure
The reduced exposure makes it easier to compare the hotspot.

Beam profile, lowest setting, increased exposure
Increasing the exposure makes it easier to compare the low settings. The light with a very low low mode will only show a black picture!
